Even though it doesn't feel like it (at least in the Northeast), Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner! Yayy!!!

Memorial Day is first and foremost a day to remember and honor the men and women who have died serving in the armed forces. This often gets ignored because it is also the unofficial kick off to summer and the first long weekend that most people have had since New Years Eve.

While your celebrating your extra day off and hopefully spending time with friends and family, take a moment to acknowledge the people that fought for you to have your freedom.

When packing for a weekend away (without bringing along a full size suitcase), I always find it helpful to stick to a consistent color palette. This doesn't mean you have to wear only black and white, but you should be able to pair each item with multiple other items that you are bringing along. For example, if you pack three pairs of shorts, you should also pack three tops that can pair with any of the shorts.

My other tip, is to use accessories to make your outfits pop. Jewelry is the easiest item to add to your outfit when traveling because it takes up very little space. I may re-wear a shirt or dress to save space, but I can pack a different pair of earrings for every event.

For nights out, I always pack my Around in Circles Statement Earrings. For casual day events I like to layer the Crystal Clear Earrings and The Bar and Chain Earrings.

This year I will definitely be packing the Modern Heart Hoops for both day and night events. I am obsessed with how delicate the mother of pearl heart charm looks.
